Imagine the ruins of what looked like an ancient city, appearing along a country road. i knew a guy named Merl, he was an old timer archeologist who thought he knew for sure where burrows cave was here in southern, IL. I have been to the spot, and the US gov had also been there, dug an enormous probe hole down searching for something, It never was known if they found anything, the heavy equipment was just gone one day and it was said that the site was shut down due to it being a burial site for a tribe of Native Americans. I wouldn't have believed it if not for all of the in my face evidence and prior knowledge that something may be there.

Somehow, I missed this video when it came out 😮 What a fascinating story to be told when you were younger. A dream ready to happen. I wish my father was alive so I could discuss this with him and if he had ever heard any of this. I'm so glad you found a big part of what you were looking for. I see you inherited your storytelling skills, naturally. On another note, I do hope you have someone along with you...for safety reasons 😊 Getting older sucks sometimes 😅

I still solo hike, but after a few nasty falls, I don’t do as many risky climbs. Yesterday, I was hiking in Ohio, and found myself descending a steep, sketchy trail. “Is it worth it,” is a question I ask myself, very frequently! But the view overlooking the Miami river was worth it. 🙂

Louisvillian here, Matthew, and it's a pleasure discovering your channel. I can honestly say that you are now my favorite UA-cam channel. Of course, there's other channels that have diamonds for videos, but I can honestly say that your "average" production skills and narrative quality is perfect and on par for all of your videos. Please don't stop. Keep it up! Maybe we can plan a group adventure some time! Saw French Lick's West Baden branch of their old springs/resort during the eclipse. That was amazing. Going caving this season as well. I'm so happy to have found your channel though. It brings me pride in my local people to see your quality videos. About 35 yrs ago, not long after moving into a new house (no longer there) I was on the phone with my mother. I looked out the kithchen window (east and next to a large Elm) and saw several Morels 😮 Just there in my yard! I wound up with over a dozen good size. Personally, I'm not a mushroom eater but, I think their interesting and take a lot of pictures. My parents and husband enjoyed the shroom feast 😊 I continued to find Morels for a few more years after that, including a couple other places in the yard. Quite extraordinary and fun 🙂

I wanted to capture the joy of what I saw, when we first visited, remembering the sunshine, the crisp morning air around the old courthouse, the smell of the old caves and excitement. I filmed Harrison County over and over, many years, until I found those sunny, happy days again. I hope this film continues to bless other people, and helps them remember their happy moments.
